What is Healing Touch?
Healing Touch is a technique that is used by either typically by medical professional, but may be non-medical, to transition energy to the client. The technique may use touch or hands over the body in a heart manner to enhance the client’s healing process and returning the body’s homoeostasis.
Training is conducted Teacher. Certifications for each level are given. No licensure is available.
Janet Mentgen (1938-2005) developed the technique in United States of America in 1989. Janet Mentgen’s profession was a bachelor prepared Registered Nurse.
How it works
Professionals place their hands on or over the client. Professionals transition energy through the body to promote the healing process. No religion is involved and documentation of work techniques are completed.
Healing Touch was a certificate program of American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) in 1990. Healing Touch was a certificate program of The Canadian Holistic Nurses Association.
Healing Touch International, Inc., was a certifying organization for hands-on energy-based therapy in 1996. Healing Touch is considered an energy therapy by the The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) is the Federal Government's lead agency for scientific research on complementary and alternative medicine in the United States of America.
