Happy Chinese New Year 2015!
This is the year of the green wooden Sheep! So if you are born in the year of the sheep, this is your year!
Now the Chinese New Year green wooden Sheep is based off three different things.
First there are twelve zodiac signs: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The cycle of the zodiac goes through each sign and then repeats. We are in the year of the Sheep as of February 19, 2015 to February 7, 2016. Those born in the year of the Sheep are artistic, calm, reserved, happy, and kind.
Then each year is given a color: green (health, prosperity, and harmony), red (good fortune and joy), yellow (center and power), white (purity), and black (neutral color). This year is green.
There are five elements (Wu Xing) and one is assigned for each year. The five characteristic element are: wood (benevolence), earth (honesty), fire (propriety), water (wisdom), and metal (righteousness).
Therefore this Chinese New Year will be is the green (health, prosperity, and harmony), wooden (benevolence), (artistic, calm reserved, happy, kind) sheep. A very good year!
