Nurses: Finding Health Education Materials
Where can I find cultural health education materials for my patients, client, and the public?
Health education materials need to be comprehensive, evidence based, culturally appropriate, and have flexibility to be used in a community’s unique environment.
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) offers a selection of manuals that address the African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Filipino American, and Hispanic/Latino communities. The manuals address high blood pressure, high cholesterol, overweight, diabetes, and physical inactivity with solutions that are illustrated to engage in several forms of learning.
