Bipolar: Medications and Outcomes
After diagnosis of bipolar in individuals, the provider will discuss treatment and outcomes. The first choices of treatment are the use of medications that are mood stabilizers. Mood stabilizers will be needed for both phases of the bipolar: manic and depression.
Bipolar individuals will need to be monitored closely to avoid ups and downs and try to remain as stable as possible. The medications will need to be part of the treatment as additional needs will need to be met.
The client will need to maintain routine sleep and meals. Continue with therapy and medication compliance.
