![]() It is important to have identification when arriving to see the provider. Keeping track of everyone’s identification can be a job for the sandwich group adult. This adult is responsible for keeping track of necessary identification and appointment times. Recommendation: Keep all identification together in one area but make copies of it. Keep the copies with any papers that providers will give out from any visits. A colorful folder is helpful locating the information quickly at home. Keep a list of current medications next to any identification in wallets. This makes medications easy to locate for the adult. Should anything happen, it also makes it easy for emergency personnel to know the adult’s medication if they are unable to speak for themselves. Adults may also take use of electronics to remind them of important changes. Alarms can be set for appointment times, renewal of licenses, or other important health events. Do note that if identification is not current, a patient may be turned away from seeing a provider until current information is provided. This prevents fraud, stolen identity, and HIPAA compliance.
