Frequent and regular physical exercise boosts the immune system, Give me 15 minutes today!
Right. We'll get on that one Lisa. :)
Okay, maybe not that enthusiastic? Knee pain? Back pain? Couch potato syndrome?
What to do when you really can't get outside, get up, or move all your limbs. After all, we do live in Ohio where the weather changes every 5 minutes. Not always easy to exercise outside. I tried that one year. The weather was more entertaining than my pictures of me exercising. But here is what you CAN do.
Most folks watch TV, listen to the radio, and download videos to watch during the day. While you are enduring this for up to an hour, most of us will see about 15 minutes in advertisement. During these breaks in your schedule programming, elevate your arms out to your side, your legs up in the air, and do the ABC's in big letters. Too easy? Add some weights to your limbs. When the show comes back on, then stop, and repeat with the next commercial. This is great for grandparents to do with grandchildren. Teaches them their letters and exercises at the same time. Great for those in cubicals all day, who have to wait for downloads to get work done, but can't leave their seat.
Only disclaimer is if you are like my one patient, who didn't like a particular politician's campaign, I advise against throwing things at your TV, radio, or computer. :) Have fun but be safe.
Drinking water improves health.
Why does this work Lisa?
Drinking water improves health because just like a car needing gas to move, so does the body needing water to function. Water helps many functions of the body to work. Water is very important when taking a "water pill" or diuretic. If there is not enough water to remove, the kidney can suffer, and then make the body ill.
Drink eight glasses that are eight ounces. Glasses that are slight bigger than your hand is long and you can wrap half your hand around the glass is approximately the right size glass.
In 2009, I presented “Feng Shui, How to enhance your life with Feng Shui”. At Miami University Hamilton Downtown at the Egg Head lunch presentations. Following immediately after the lecture, one-on-one Feng Shui consultants were done with members of the audience.
